1. Preparation
Do as much preparation as possible. Read the job description thoroughly and match up your skills and experience with the requirements, prepare answers to common job questions, plan an appropriate outfit, and perhaps rehearse an interview with a friend to calm your nerves.

2. Arrive early
Always be sure to set off ahead of time and arrive to your interview early so you have time to calm your nerves and read through any notes.

3. Know the people you’re talking to
Have a look into the team and the person interviewing you on social media (e.g. LinkedIn and Twitter). This will give you an idea of the culture of the business and you might find some common ground with the people who work there.

4. Show off your work.
If you have worked in digital marketing for a few years, bring some examples of your best work to your interview to help you stand out from other candidates.

5. Know the business inside out
conduct a SWOT test before your interview. Identifying your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats is a great way to prepare for common interview questions such as ‘what are your weaknesses?’ and ‘what can you bring to the business?’.

6. Ask questions.
Before your interview, prepare some questions to ask you interviewer. This will show the interviewer that you are interested in working there, and is a good way to figure out whether the role is right for you.

7. Do your research.
Make sure you find out everything you can about the company using their website, social media, and articles. This will make sure you are prepared to answer any questions about the company, and will also help you come up with questions to ask them.

8. Be specific when talking about your current role.
Make sure to talk about the specific role you play in your current job rather than about the overall business. Talk about your own personal achievement in your role and any ownership you had over campaigns.
