What attracted you to your new role and what has been the best part?
I loved the fact that it was a full-service digital agency, where my background agency side had been eCommerce and PPC only. It’s been brilliant finding out more about how other sections of digital operations, such as outreach and digital PR operate. I also got a fantastic vibe from the team here, that made me even more determined to become a part of the Marketing Signals gang.
What were you looking for in a new role?
I was looking to relocate back North, and Manchester is famous for being the hub of the UK digital scene. I was also looking for an agency that valued their staff and was happy to aid in their development. I wanted a role that wasn’t limiting. I’ve been lucky enough to find all this here.
What interests you most about the digital marketing industry?
The fact it is a constantly fluid and evolving sector.
What type of person excels in this type of role?
I would say you have to have a mixture of the analytical and the creative mind to be successful in digital, I’m struggling to think of another area where there’s such a blend of the scientific and the artistic.
What is the best preparation you have had for this role?
My background is both client and agency side. Having experienced both sides of the coin means I can understand and appreciate the needs of both sides.
What are the highlights of your job?
Assisting the business development team with pitches to prospective clients.
What are the challenges of your role?
It is all a challenge, and something I relish. I wouldn’t be in digital otherwise.
What added value did you get from job hunting with a recruitment agency such as us here at The Candidate?
The personal touch. The consultants have been fantastic throughout the several months it took to find the right role for me. I felt valued from the offset.
Will you contact a recruitment agency again for any future career change?
Yes; The Candidate.
