The Candidate appoints a returning Marketing Recruitment Manager – Megan Cross

Having just returned from her 3-month sabbatical, we are happy to welcome back Megan Cross as our new Marketing Recruitment Manager. She brings to her new role, a wealth of both marketing and recruitment knowledge along with a strong industry network. We caught up with Megan to find out what she’s been up to these past few months and to see what we can expect from her team!

Welcome back, Megan! What have you been up to and why did you choose to take a sabbatical?

I’ve spent the last three months travelling through Indonesia and Vietnam which has been amazing! I went straight into work from University, so I didn’t have the opportunity to travel and it’s always something that I’ve wanted to do. I’m lucky The Candidate gave me the chance to do this. It was really nice going away and knowing I still had a job I really enjoy to go back to!

Congratulations on your promotion to Marketing Recruitment Manager, what will your new role entail?

The Marketing Operations team here have gone from strength to strength and we’ve hired some new faces since I’ve been away who are all settling in brilliantly. My new role will be to work alongside the Managing Partner to help support and develop the team further.

Tell us more about the Marketing Recruitment Team and the sorts of roles you’ll be working on.

We have always had a strong foothold in digital and eCommerce, however, we’ve recently begun to branch into a number of different specialisms, so we all have our different areas to focus on. Where we hire recruitment consultants mainly from marketing backgrounds, we’ve got a strong understanding of different areas of the field which is great because the team enjoy the positions and clients they’re working with. Our team are managing roles from assistant-level to managers positions at £40k, anything above that is going to be managed by our senior team.

What types of business’ is the team currently working with?

Our core clients who we’ve been working with for a number of years span across a variety of sectors including; eCommerce, fashion, retail, motors, education, technology & travel. However, recently we’ve also seen a massive drive from the financial sector across both digital and data.

What kind of candidates are you working with?

The candidates we’re working with have never been as diverse as they are at the minute which has been great to come back to! We’re currently working with some brilliant people across a range of digital channels, offline, brand, design and data. We always find that this time of year has a final rush before the Christmas period so we’ve got a really rich pool to work from.
