The annual Manchester Talent Day 2013 finally arrived and what a success it was! With over 50 exhibitors form the North West out scouting for the newest digital and creative talent the atmosphere was buzzing with anticipation and enthusiasm. The digital event aimed at students and graduates, was set up to bring together employers and digital enthusiasts who want to kick start a career. It was also a great opportunity for students to find out what kind of digital jobs they could to go into after graduation and we were there to advise them on what employers look for when recruiting graduates.
Students had the chance to network with the region's biggest and best digital companies.
What did the students think?
MMUBS Advertising and Brand Management Student David Jameson -"The event was massively helpful to me in researching future job prospects. I got to network with people I wouldn't ordinarily get the chance to in the space of a few hours. I now feel inspired to forge a career for myself in the digital sector."
Digital Media Communications student Jessica Walton -"I didn't realise how many well established companies have opportunities in the North West. I got some great advice off graduates that are currently in graduate scheme positions. I'd definitely recommend this event for any students or graduates who want to work in digital."
Look its Simon and Maz - Checking out the talent and offering advice!
Digital Marketing Communications graduate Nick Riley-"Since graduating I've found it hard to know exactly what career path to take. By attending the Manchester Talent Day I've found a number of companies that offer short internships for people like to me gain some hands on experience. Without this event I wouldn't have heard of some great opportunities."
Let's do it again!
Don't just take it from us; the above statements are just a snippet of the positive feedback we got from people at the event. It was great to see students eager to have successful careers after university, who knows we could have met the future leaders in digital! We will definitely be attending next year, and so should you if you missed out this year!
