But never fear – once you know where to start, pursuing your career in Analytics is definitely achievable!
Google Digital Garage
As Google Analytics is one of the main tools used in Analytics roles, Google Digital Garage is naturally the go to resource to learn more about how to use it. It’s a free platform where you can learn digital skills and understand more about how companies utilise data to achieve goals and make their business more efficient. Machine learning, coding, big data, graphic design, SEO, and software development – it really has a mix of everything! And a lot of the courses are provided by actual learning institutions so you can rest assured that what you’re learning is accurate and relevant in the workplace.
Google Digital GarageThere is also Analytics Academy which takes you through Google Analytics from absolute basics to advanced uses – this is a great place to start if you’re a total beginner!
Analytics AcademyUdemy
Udemy has over 130,000 video courses focussing on everything from coding to drawing! All of the classes are created by industry professionals, and even big name brands use this site to help their teams learn new skills. For example, you can get an official Google Analytics Qualification in just one day! The courses range in price (but they do have lots of free options too!) and level of complexity (beginner to expert). This is a great option to add some vital skills to your CV and get to grips with software you might not have come across yet. They even have a great YouTube channel focussed on Technology where you can find some free lessons in WordPress, Python, Databases and more!

This is an important part of getting started in the industry that can’t be overlooked. By joining in with events and getting immersed into the community, you’ll get a real feel for the type of work you might be doing, who you could be working with, and what companies might hire you! Even though a lot of physical events can’t take place at the moment, there are plenty of online workshops and presentations to get involved with.
