No less than 3 rising stars have been promoted at The Candidate to Associate Director level this Autumn after outstanding performances in the Digital Marketing Recruitment sector this year. Working on a range of clients, both in-house and agency side and across multiple sectors, the trio has helped the agency to bolster its position as the number one agency for quality candidates, exclusive roles and outstanding service.
Having navigated the market’s highs and lows throughout the pandemic and working effectively through the digital recovery to deliver high calibre candidates to clients, the agency will now draw on their experience, knowledge and skillset to develop its strategic plans for 2021 and beyond. This comes as The Candidate further grows its teams and invests in more consultants to add complementary recruitment channels to its offering, particularly in Tech, Analytics & Executive Search across permanent and contracting solutions.
Alison Livesey, Associate Director
Alison Livesey, who is celebrating 10 years in recruitment this year, has worked in various agencies over the last decade and continues to expand her network of candidates and clients to help them make the perfect hire. She has done this recently with both SME and corporate clients, offering them both a high standard of candidates to choose from. These include multi-hire briefs, where clients have brought recruitment briefs to the agency that require multiple staff in new teams because of the recent eCommerce demand surge. She is undoubtedly the region’s go-to recruiter for client side mid to senior level digital marketers.
Emma Burke, Associate Director
Emma Burke is also celebrating 10 years in the digital recruitment market and is the region’s go-to recruiter for agency-side clients and candidates. Emma’s passion is as strong as ever and with a deep understanding of the agency landscape and its unique range of cultural identities, she has been securing more agency side wins for clients who have come to her for a no-nonsense, professional and transparent level of service. To complement this, she has placed a number of relocators to the North West recently who rightfully see Manchester as an outstanding opportunity for developing their agency-side careers.
Leif Radford, Associate Director
Leif Radford joined the agency from a marketing background and applied all his knowledge to quickly develop skills to identify client’s analytical recruitment requirements and match the perfect candidates. As one of the agency’s rising stars, he has progressed from Recruitment Executive to Associate Director in just over 40 months. He now works with some of the region’s leading clients and is a great point of contact to consult for advice in growing your analytics department and how it integrates with your marketing teams.

“This year has been like no other for everyone. Although in our darkest moments as a business we have had 3 shining lights. They have been exceptional in supporting candidates, clients, their peers and me. There has been a huge push from everyone at The Candidate to try and support the digital community and these promotions come with a hell of a lot of pride and emotion as these guys have continued to perform at the highest level and stood up to be counted when many others wouldn’t.
Alison’s performance this year has been outstanding, she brushed the difficult covid climate to the side and kept focus on her invaluable relationships with candidates and clients pre-empting and reacting to their needs. She has been a constant for the business since she started and when I look at what she has achieved this year it is nothing short of amazing.
This year Emma has kept her cool and supported her agency stakeholders through some very dark times, offering consultative advice when recruitment was not an option. She has embraced our other key departments above and beyond in order to deliver a team result with a holistic approach. She has a natural empathy for her candidates and clients which has made building strong relationships effortless and why they come to her first for their recruitment and career needs. Again, her performance has been exceptional.
It’s hard to believe that Leif has less than 4 years recruitment experience when this year he has worked tirelessly on all vacancies throughout and had to navigate an unfavourable, sensitive recruitment market, which are challenging even for the most seasoned recruiters. Leif has placed candidates in roles across all channels showing his tremendous recruitment skillset. He is always on top of where we are as a business, makes things happen and cares about delivering the very best results for his clients and candidates as well as us as a team, something that is essential for directorship in this business.
