In this technical development role, the employee in a Creative Back-end Developer job will be responsible for the creation, development or maintenance of the back-end of websites including the CMS. They will have skills in either PHP and open source or .net software to build these platforms. Sitting within development teams, they will work within both agency and client-side environments. The teams will be headed up by the Head of Development, which tends to be those with software skills who can also manage and develop teams. There is usually a requirement to work within tight deadlines as they build out the back end as part of the overall timeline for a new back-end system. The roles aren’t usually client facing but crucial for the smooth delivery of new website and digital projects. They will also work alongside Front-end Developers who build out that element of the website to create a fully rounded solution for companies trading online.
